The Crab Apple can be kept in full sun and it is relatively hardy and needs little protection from freezing temperatures. However please note that frost and very cold temperatures are likely to brown the fruits.
Ensure the tree doesn’t dry out when bearing fruit in autumn. You can Prune the tree in late autumn.
We have tried to show the Crab Apple in different seasons. Around December the fruits that haven’t been eaten by the birds will start to swell, burst and fall. This is completely natural to the tree.It is also the time that you could harvest the Crab Apple seeds yourself!
Please Note: The picture is for guidance only. It is not generally possible to send the tree in the picture. Please note that measurements given are approximate not exact. Measurements given are from the bottom of the pot to the top of the tree, the pot colour & style may also vary from the picture. Due to their nature trees grow and whilst in our care may need pruning, this means the tree that you receive may differ in size to that given in the description. The appearance of the tree may vary depending on the season.
